MN LANDSCAPE ARBORETUM: GARDEN OF HARMONIOUS BEAUTY – CHANHASSEN, MN
Solution Blue worked together with the University of MN, City of Chaska, Carver County, State of MN, Army Corps of Engineers, and various other stakeholders to create a Chinese Garden on a 5-acre site identified by the Arboretum’s Master Plan. Along with the enhanced wetland, the project included new walkways, interpretive garden areas, a viewing platform and landscape amenities for learning and enjoyment within the Arboretum’s large campus. Also, we selected and laid out certain plants to provide improved water quality, enhanced wetland function and visual interest to demonstrate that wetland mitigation can be creative, attractive, environmental, and educational. We designed and construction managed the first two phases of this mulita-phase project to efficiently accommodate the future phases of construction in a cost-effective and sensible manner. This garden continues to provide educational and environmental benefits for the University of MN, the Arboretum staff, and thousands of visitors each year.
