Difficult for traditional turf fields to withstand excessive wear and tear, in wet and dry conditions.

Solution and Results

Solution Blue team members designed and managed the installation of an engineered soil profile to provide the safest, most durable natural turf field for the 50,000-seat Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Incorporated Netlon’s ATS (Advanced Turf System) within an engineered sand-based soil profile.
Implemented a solution that increases player safety, enhances turf health and improves the durability of natural turf fields.
Employed a system that doubles soil infiltration rates, ensuring the fields will be safe for play, rain or shine, for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Games and for many years to follow.
